About me
My name is Frédérick Brault. Before becoming a photographer, I was a landscape architect for 10 years. My love for nature and design is what pushed me to study and work in this field. It was during my bachelor's degree, in the early 2000s, that I took a photography course that taught me the basics of this art. It sowed in me a little seed that would one day grow and become a passion so strong that a change of career would become obvious for me.
At the end of 2014, I decided to make the leap! From that moment on, photography would become my full-time job! This is how Brophoto was born!
Every year since that moment, I follow a few photography classes and attend conferences and workshops to improve myself. I want to surpass myself, create beautiful images for my clients, but also for me!
I know how your wedding will be one of the most beautiful and important days of your life. That's why I take my job very seriously, but always with a smile! I'll give you my 110%, as much during your big day as during the job of sorting and editing your images. When I have my camera in my hands, I get super "pumped"! It really energizes me! I love playing with light and photographing authentic moments! And when these moments include smiles and laughter, it fills me with happiness even more! I think there is nothing more beautiful than a happy couple!
Personal life
I am the father of 3 beautiful little girls! I love them so much! There is my oldest, Charlotte, who loves drawing and writing. There is our little clown Estelle, who is very imaginative and loves to sing! Finally, there is our baby Léanne, who is so cheerful and who smiles all the time!
I am also the spouse of Elizabeth, my lover for the last 18 years! We met at the dawn of our twenties, through mutual friends. I was quickly charmed by her calmness, timidity and simplicity! She had a mysterious side that made me want to know her more! 3 kids, a house, career changes and a trip around the world later, we are a strong couple and I still love her like in the beginnings! And she is such a beauty! I'd like to photograph her more often, but there is her timidity, that she still has!
Finally, here is a little bit more information about me that I would like to share with you:
- A few years ago, with my brother, my sister-in-law and Elizabeth, we left home for 8 months on a trip around the world! 4 years of preparation and savings have allowed us to discover Tanzania, Egypt, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Australia and New Zealand! It was amazing and unforgettable! To redo such a trip with my children is one of my biggest dreams today!
- I love camping and trekking! Give me a packed backpack and a mountain to climb and I'm the happiest guy in the world!
- In terms of food, I really have a weakness for fine firm cheeses, pastries, dark chocolate and, being a Quebecker, poutine!
- Music is an integral part of my life! In my youth, I lived only for hip-hop, but as I got older I became open to all genres of music. My playlists today range from Eminem to AC / DC, Low Roar, Charles Bradley, London Grammar, Agnes Obel, Mumford & Sons, Johnny Cash and Moby, not to mention my favourite band for the last decade, Sigur Ros.
- I have a particular interest in film soundtracks! I know by heart the themes of Gladiator, Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump, Batman, Game of Thrones, etc. I often edit wedding photos while listening to this type of music, which makes them absolutely epic!
- I must confess to being hooked on the news! Deciding if I want to listen to music or news is always a heartbreaking choice for me!
- Speaking of news, I have a strange love for politics, whether it be national or international. Since 2016, however, I am particularly fond of American politics. What is happening there certainly doesn't leave anybody indifferent!
- When I'm not working, I like spending time in my garden! If I wasn’t a photographer, I would definitely be an urban farmer!
I am a curious person. When I meet a couple, I love to talk about their passions, their work, their life in general! I want more than taking pictures; I want to know you! See you soon!
Pricing
When I meet a couple, I always tell them that there are 3 essential elements to consider when choosing a photographer: you have to like his/her photographic style, you have to be comfortable with him or her (VERY important!) and obviously, there is the monetary investment.
Prices vary greatly from one photographer to another. It all depends on experience, notoriety, whether he/she is a full-time professional or not, what is included in the packages, etc. For my part, my rates for photographic coverage of your wedding range from $2900 to $6000 + tx. Do not hesitate to contact me to make an appointment for a meeting that does not commit you to anything, but that will allow me to explain how I work and what’s included in my packages and the possible options.
In addition, it will allow us to get to know each other better, which is essential if we are to work together! Remember that the photographer is probably the service provider with whom you will have the longest relationship (pre and post-wedding communications, engagement photoshoot, album, etc.) and the most intimate (I will be close to you during this great day, a day full of emotions!)! The good "fit" is essential!
